It’s never too late

Shopping, the greatest moment among woman to do. Starting from walking into a shop, searching, browsing, make a  product contact and then we make a decision should we buy it. But stop from that, are u aware that there is something happen with us when we act on the shop ?

From one article of marketing magazine that I’ve just read which it is still related with my research. At last, I’ve found the best definition.

P(Propensity)= (N(Needs)  + F (Features) + A (Affordability) ) x E(Emotion)2

They get this definition from Pamela N.Dazinger, one of the author who had written about Shopping. She call it the quantum theory of shopping. Lets try to find out what the formula tell us.

As the propensity show us the result that we could concluded after several action in the store, we could connect it with what actually we needs. As you see, sometimes we still confuse between needs and want.

We all need cloth and food, but what color or how much we need some pair of shoes or how big our clutch to bring is a different thing. You see, people in the store suddenly would feel that they have lots and lots of new needs that show up after they saw the product fashion. It means, the retailer had succeed to pull a new needs which it simply influence by culture, personality, and don’t mention our life style. Sometimes we forgot that what we want suddenly turn around as what we need.

But somehow prospensity happened not actually because of the product looks good, but the value that retailer put on it has telling you that it is worth it. That is why you keep telling yourself that you need to buy those stuff. Don’t forget even though the product has reach your expectation of value, but how about the affordabilty ? Can you buy it ? Still, price would always become our basic problem as a shopper.

Among all of those activities, so what actually that would persuade you and act fast to buy ? The answer is emotional feeling. Paco Underhill, my beloved author of shopping tell us that shopping is almost all of it talking about woman, and woman always conclude psychologist and emotion to do shopping. We use our heart to shopping not our brain, ladies !! What a surprise huh…

The emotion takes the biggest part among shopping, and that is why sometimes we cannot put any reason why we have to buy a lipstick while we still have a abundant lipstick at home. We sometimes cannot understand our action even though the Jimmy Choo shoes so expensive, but we still try to buy it even though there are abundant of others label who can do the same function. Because we like it, because we feel it would fit with us, because we think that it would make us more beautiful. Feeling, instinct, every kind of emotional impression would suddenly go onto the surface.

Because we are a woman.

What actually life means to us. Sometimes life ain’t give us an easy way to handle. Happiness compare to sadness, challenge compare to boring, each one of it would never be stopped. But here is the thing.

What is a success means to you ? How many of your success had you made each day, each step, and each breath ? How much important the success among your life ? and the last thing, is it enough for you ?

As we look from all those question, we are hoping that we could describe ourselves. But somehow we are very often losing words to describe our lives and what we should have in our short life.

We are always talk about the great expectation while we know that people’s expectation would never stay low. But how big our feet to catch the dream to grow our hope would be wiser.

Is it you or your dream you talk about or the real thing which you put your shoes on ? The thin line between the real and the dream that we push over our life, which sometimes it would not fit, would always keep pushing us through the corner of the world.

So what kind of life do you want ? Which one is more important, what you want or what you need ?

Ladies, lets talk about fashion product. What I meant here is everything that you wear and everybody could see the shape. It means clothes, accessories, shoes, and bag.

As we know when we are starting to drag into Department Store, it is really often we finished the ritual of shopping with carrying thing that you never expect to buy it before. You need shoes, you show up with skirt. You need one tshirt, you buy three tshirt. And sometimes, you only need a shoes, but you also buy a bag.

So what’s the problem ? Who did that to us, Ladies ?

From my research, environtment certainly made it to put us into that condition. Suddenly drag us into some sort of ritual which could hinotize us to feel comfortable, and look everything as good as they call you.

Man would droll with sexy woman, but woman would droll with discount, and nice looking product. We don’t even care if we don’t really need on that time. We certainly insist that we would need it some other time.

Remember dear, discount still keep you pull out the money out of your wallet. In some TV show, a man ever told us that discount would not make you do some saving, cause the truth you still losing your money rather than keep it to safe place.

If we could find out, lately, discount are everywhere. So we should not worry about it. They will keep coming few months again.

Well well… even though I am a little bit late to say MERRY CHRISTMAST to all of you my friends, but better than not saying anything isn’t it ?

I spend my holiday with my family, I’m going back to my hometown and gathering with my small family. I am also very happy because I’d already officially graduated for my Master Degree Program. Yea….

My very wish for 2009, I need a good job and abundant of happiness and boyfriend. I don’t need other thing.

2009… here I come baby… !!!

Today, after I saw Joan of Arc movie, the courage and persistent of her faith gave me a motivation to ask myself. How sure am I with each decision  I had made?

We certainly feel losing direction and very often losing control of our own life and flush into the wave of the real world which would make us confuse and wrong. But how far can you be sure with each of your decision you had made in your life ?

Some people are praying to God to ask which way would suit them for living, others follow what they call heart telling. I choose to pray and try to walk on my living.

Lack of confidence has certainly bec0me an annoying thing when you keep trying to stay on track of good life. Can I do it ? How if its wrong? Will I make it?

We need to give ourselves a chance to prove. Not for glory, but for growing. we need to be persistent and loyal to our decision while others as the external factor like friends, enemy, or another jealous person might sometimes try to let us down. It is part of nature that the weak will be banish. As we feel lack of confidence with our action, our thought and decision, people will starting to deceive you, abandon you and sometimes use you. Because we never let ourselves to try and to take control of our own life.

How if we make a mistake ? Then let our mistake give us a lesson so the next time we would not do the same thing. Like everybody said, nobody is perfect. Because we always learn from mistake.

How brave could we can cope ? That is what we can call as dependable person.  We put, we do, and we push. We need to take control of our life, including mistake. Never let others take control of your action. But you should be brave to take responsibility of your own life. Confess for what mistake you had done, and proud for what achivement you had made.

We deserve a confession.

As 12 December 2008, our president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had signed the policy of porn law. Eventhough majority of Indonesian people are moslem, however from Indonesia’s root of culture  itself, the culture clothes from each certain area, especially from East Indonesia are still minim with garment. Is it include into porn stuff ?

The uncertain border between polite and porn here are still in debate. How come if we use tank top or mini skirt become a porn stuff while we are the woman who has right to wear that rather than man ? How could they discriminate us woman when we are the one that suppose to be the victim for crime or rape ? Is it our fault because wearing short skirt or tank top ? Or Man’s mind who should be blame above all ?

Bali as the center of Indonesia’s  tourism itself has been strike to government, because most of tourist of course from foreign country where usually don’t really care what they want to wear on Bali, short skirt ? bikini, or even don’t wear something.

The indication of some powerful power from certain group of people of this policy probably would ruin and discriminate woman and rape certain culture of some area. For information that people from Irian Jaya still use “koteka” like man’s undies as their daily clothes.

While out there the economy still in such a mess, but government have time to make this policy, while they don’t have much data that proves the crimes of rapes getting higher lately, but we Indonesian can prove that murderer with cutting people body into 7 pieces getting higher.

Even our artist itself felt that this policy would ruin their creativity as an artist who actually have a right to demonstrate art on every kind of shape. Starting from movies, painting, statue, or even advertising in Indonesia really worried because the unmature of policy which the message itself still uncertain for whom. Woman itself, or man ?

During our ages on 20 something, we are in the glitter blommer ages. Where you can put any colors you want, any image you like and be somebody you want. But somehow, here are something that I find out to be the imaginary image you want get :

The feminin

You need a pink rose or soft orange blush ,white or soft eye shadow, the shimmer lotion, soft mascara, and glitter lipstick. Because you don’t want to look too strong and powerful or even dominant. You want to look warm, nice, and catchy.

The Stronger

You need a pink rose or soft brown blush on, big mascara, red or stong pink for lipstick, eyeliner, dark color eye shadow. Bring the inner strength in you eyes and lips, a glance of eyes would catch people near you.

The Glamour

You need a mate color of lipstick, a soft blush, shimmer and foundation, liquid eye shadow, small eyeliner and mascara. Bring the grace smile for everybody and work the make up.

The Rock

You need a black eye shadow, a black eyeliner, a dark mascara, and dark color lisptick, put the dark side into face would bring hollow to others. So creepy…

“I love him… but he never understand that I don’t like when he always late to pick me up!” , ” I adore him… but he is so cold and cannot mix with my friends”  .. bla bla bla….

Love … who can define what love is it ? Everybody love to say love love and love. But what actually have made you keeps fallin ?  Of course it’s love. However… usually there’s a one word will follow it a few weeks or months after…. “But…”

If we put ourselves onto some conditional that we think we knew who’s this man in front of us and usually you would said to yourself that he is the one while your heart pumping faster than usual. But is it really true ?

We sometimes not notice the feeling we carried inside and jump on everytime we saw that guy, sometimes its  a daydream. Its what we could call fallin with love itself. That’s why a woman demands much thing about how her guy should act, how he should dress, how he should treat her more, what kind and how often should he gives her a gift. Complain and complain would soon after catch up with that dream cause suddenly we realize that he cannot act the same like what we thought before. Because he is just a human. Come on ladies, realize that.

Disappointment is starting point of disaster from a relationship just because you ignore the real one. Everybody said life isn’t perfect. But here’s the thing, once you understand where the real one and loving it as thing that you need as part of your life, then that what I call fallin with him.

Love cannot be unconditionally because he is no one for you. He is not  your parents or your siblings or your son. He is just a stranger that suddenly came into your life. That’s why we will need time to adjust one another as part of the essence for giving a chance one another to love every inch reality that they carried under their belly.

You see… life would be very easy if we could realize that we have been deceive too many times by love itself.

Started from my interesting after finished my thesis, I began to observe and searched information about malls on Jakarta. Many kind of malls exist on Jakarta. Middle-low class, middle – upper class. All of it probably about 190 building are growing across Jakarta. And a good thing is Starbuck are everywhere on our mall. But not 7-11. The new trend right now, we have gym inside the mall. So here is some malls that I know so far. And some of them are my favourite.

PLAZA SENAYAN

Place where lots of young executive would spend a day. Find something luxurious such as aigner; linea; prada. Its also a Nice place for meeting with your client because lots of cafe here. Also its has lots of nice kind restaurant. Don’t forget that The new nightclub called X2 is in here.

SENAYAN CITY

This mall has really big and bright white place, it has a boutique concept. Very cold, and have a very big place to walk on each isle. Comfortable and nice. But somehow sometimes the place felt too big. Many kind brand stuff like CK, massimo duty, bebe, and the anchor is Debenhams.

PLAZA INDONESIA AND EX

Place where you can buy expensive thing, very nice,warm. The stuff are almost the same like on SENAYAN CITY.

FX

The new place near Senayan City and Plaza Senayan. Place where you can find the longest slide on mall. Has a new concept and modern. You can find nice place for meeting with nice decoration complete equipment. Lots of cafe and restaurant, a nice place to spend a day for lunch or dinner. Many unique store on each floor.

GRAND INDONESIA

Big place with classic concept. They try to bring outside theme into inside mall. Beside nice restaurant and store, you can find the dancing waterfall. Just like on singapore. Also…. there is Harvey nichols and seibu here. Can you imagine that ?

PASIFIC PLACE

The new one with nice victorian place style. It also try to bring outside theme into inside mall. But the theme is beach and ocean and they put it on foodcourt floor. Very interesting. The ambiance feels warm and nice. It’s right next to Rich Carlton Hotel.

TAMAN ANGGREK

My favourite place to spend a day. Nice restaurant, nice store and department store.

PURI INDAH MALL

Nice place that established in the middle of expensive home area. Not too big but it has a nice and wonderful place. Has lots of nice restaurant.

KELAPA GADING MALL

Place for north people spend a day. Very big, long and confuse place to spend but you can find anything here.

PONDOK INDAH MALL

Place for south peole spend a day. Very big, complete with everything you want to buy.

GAJAHMADA PLAZA

Well its so so place but it has a nice petshop here. not really my favourite place.

ITC MANGGA DUA

If you want to find a fake stuff, this is the best place. Heaven for you computer addict, fashion addict. You need more than one day to sweep this place.

SETIABUDI ONE

Place that small but full of nice restaurant. Very quite but pretty relax place.

Most of the mall that I said is a place where rich people hang out. So we, Jakarta people, used to have a nice suit just to go to mall. Hahaha…. I’m a mall addict. The first thing that I would find out about a city is the mall !!!!!

Nervous, it’s something that you could feel if you still cannot speak fluently on your second language. English is really damn important, Universal language, but somehow for most people English still become part of big issue to learn. So maybe a little bit share would increase and fix your habit to learn. Many guys outside there try to improve their English by using class conversation. Yes it will activate your courage to talk, but it won’t give too much effect.  So here are some of things that probably will work for you :

Read  a book, magazine,article in English

Indonesian people has no habit to read a book. That’s why our bookstore cannot really grow too much. But somehow you have to learn read something in English constantly. It’s not about vocabulary, it’s more than that. It’s about knowing how to tell information appropriately.  And one more thing. The more you read, the more you will fast to absorb information on each sentence.  Maybe for the first time you have to read it few times before you can really understand exactly what is mean and the sentence wants to talk about.

Practice to write in English

Its method that I use it. Because I don’t meet many people here where I can talk in English freely. So I decide to write something. Beside, I like writing. Writing would teach you how to deliver information to others with gracefully and more expressive.

Watching dvd hollywood movie without subtitle

Aha, for Indonesian, piracy is a common thing. But… its something that we could use to learn by passively. You could use any kind of movie, classic, modern, drama, action, but don’t use the subtitle. In my case, I can actually remember in my mind how I suppose to speak in some kind of accent after saw one movie.

Watch foreign news channel

Tv cable is very cheap now, so why don’t u use it to watch news sometimes. Not only watching starworld or HBO. Somehow some words on business is very uncommon and for me its extremely interesting.

Chat on English

Probably if you cannot find someone to talk in English, just use internet to find someone to talk in English. Build some nice conversation and practice your English.

Watch your grammar

This is the thing that  I’m still struggling to learn.  But oh well, that’s why you need to buy a TOEFL book and grammar book. Learn !!
